Women across South Carolina are connected to elect James Smith

Since its start in November 2017, the Women for James Smith coalition has grown exponentially and today we're excited to say more than 120 South Carolina women leaders have joined its ranks!

If you're not one of the more than 10,000 people who are a part of the Women for James Smith community on Facebook, you can join today.

Honorary Co-Chairs Kirkland Smith, James Smith’s wife, and Nina Nelson Smith, James Smith’s mother, lead Women For James Smith.

Here's what Kirkland had to say today about James's commitment to women:

“James is passionate about everything he does. James doesn’t back down from a challenge. He will work as hard as it takes to get the job done. That’s why, as Governor, James will make sure women are no longer underrepresented in positions of leadership. He’ll fight against gender inequality in the workplace and ensure women of all backgrounds have the opportunity for success in South Carolina. “

And here's James, who earlier today introduced paycheck fairness legislative action that will address the gender pay gap:

“I’m incredibly honored to have the support of such an incredibly diverse team of female elected officials, business and community leaders, and grassroots activists from across South Carolina. As Governor, I’ll continue to lead on issues important to women including equal pay for equal work, access to healthcare, and greater inclusion and economic opportunity.”
